Casino Royal must go. Synecdoche, New York has arrived. A film experience like no other. Also I don’t know why but I think A Prarie Home Companion is also essential.I’m not a country music fan, but I’ll never forget it.
James, if you liked “A Prarie Home Companion” (which i’m yet to see, but keen to) can I recommend another Altman film involving country music – “Nashville”. One of the best of the 70s, and therefore of the last 40 years.
How about a little film called ‘Spiderman’? The 21st highest grossing film of all time? And that’s not even adjusted for inflation.
Just checked out this. Interesting… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films
